Wyma Solutions has launched the Optical Vege-Trimmer™, a fully automated optical trimming system designed to remove foliage, crowns and tails from carrots or parsnips before packing or processing.
Developed, designed and manufactured by post-harvest engineering experts at Wyma, the system uses advanced optical recognition to identify each individual vegetable and determine the optimal cut point in real time. High-speed cutting executes the trim in just 0.2 seconds, operating at approximately two items per second and achieving throughput of up to 1–2 tonnes per hour depending on produce size.
Built with an EHEDG-inspired hygienic design, the machine features IP69K-rated servo motors, food-grade EPDM seals and washdown-ready components, making it suitable for demanding fresh and processing produce environments.
