    Micron Filter XL

Ultra-fine, self-cleaning, large capacity, single pass, filtration system to
remove organic and other debris from a water stream for water reuse

    V2 Left-1

The Wyma Micron Filter XL is an ultra-fine, high capacity, self-cleaning, compact and cost-effective second stage water treatment solution. It filters to levels much finer than traditional first stage filters removing a significant amount of organic matter and debris from water in a single pass so that the water can be easily reused.

This unique filtration system has been developed by and is exclusive to Wyma Solutions.

Filtration levels range from 0.075 to 0.25mm. Capacities at 0.15 mm (100 US mesh) filtration range from 5 to 50 litres per second (18 to 180 cubic meters per hour or 4,700 to 47,000 gal per hour). Actual capacity dependent on solids loading. Total Suspended Solids (TSS) reductions of greater than 60%* have been recorded on wash line and processing line wastewater, as well as reductions of BOD and COD greater than 50%*. (*Situation dependent.)

Dirty water or slurries are pumped directly into the filter from the base of washing systems such as a Wet Hopper, Barrel Washer, Destoner, Vege-Polisher™, Peeler, or a collection pit/sump. Water and fine particles pass through the filter mesh into the tank below, whilst larger organics and debris are extracted for disposal. An auger in the tank manages the removal of fine sediments.

External pumps are provided to pump the filtered water back to the process or wash line for reuse.
Other features include auto-emptying, automated self-cleaning, and a system to prevent solids build up in the tank.

    FAQ:

    1. What is the maximum size of debris that can enter the Micron Filter?

To prevent damage to the mesh screens, stones larger than 20mm must be removed prior to the Micron Filter. A Wyma Rotary Filter is recommended prior to the Micron Filter to remove large stones, vine and debris.

    2. How is the Micron Filter's suitability determined for each site?

To accurately predict performance and throughput of the Micron Filter, a particle size analysis, solids loading estimate, and desired wastewater flow rate should be provided.
