Scandinavian Territory Manager James Tindale’s recent trip to Norway highlights how Wyma is helping local processors boost yield, reduce labour, and plan for long-term performance.
Following his recent appointment as Wyma’s Territory Manager for Scandinavia, James Tindale has wasted no time getting out into the field to meet customers and see their operations firsthand.
On a recent trip to Norway, James visited nine sites—including both long-standing Wyma customers and new prospects—where he listened closely to the challenges they’re facing and helped explore new solutions to improve post-harvest performance.
Understanding What Matters Most
James’s approach was simple but effective: start with a conversation, then walk the line.
Using a structured template, he encouraged open discussions with each site, asking about their current pain points—what’s working, what’s not, and where they see room for improvement.
Key themes included:
Boosting crop yield
Improving the quality of washing and polishing
Reducing manual labour dependencies
The feedback was encouraging: customers praised Wyma’s reliability and technical support. But James was just as focused on identifying ways we could serve them even better.
Solutions in Progress – From Automation to Upgrades
Throughout the trip, James supported processors looking to get more from their equipment—whether that meant new line designs, equipment upgrades, or simple advice on how to optimise what they already have.
One customer is now working with James on a fully automated line upgrade, including:
Converting a polisher into a peeler
Adding a new bunker
Implementing an automated trimming, weighing, and bagging setup
There was also strong interest across the region in Wyma’s new Optical Roto-Cut, which many customers saw as a promising solution to help increase yield and reduce reliance on labour.
Planning Ahead – Long-Term Maintenance Support
Not every success story is about new machinery. In one case, a customer needed to service their 3016 V4 Veg Polisher, particularly the Carborundum rollers. Because their maintenance windows must be planned months in advance, James worked closely with the customer’s engineering department to:
Develop a pre-emptive maintenance action plan
Schedule shot blasting and recoating of the rollers
Arrange advance parts supply to avoid disruption
This kind of forward-looking support ensures equipment longevity and production continuity—two things customers deeply value.
Supporting the Region, One Visit at a Time
James is continuing to work closely with customers across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, offering support on:
Full line solutions
Equipment upgrades
Maintenance planning
Process improvement
If you’d like to connect with James or book a site visit, he’s only a call or email away.
