Supporting the LOCIKA Centre: Continuing Our Commitment to Helping Children

cetrumL

We’re proud to support the LOCIKA Centre with a 100,000 CZK donation, helping children affected by family violence live safer, happier lives.

This December, Wyma Europe continued its five-year partnership with the LOCIKA Centre. Our Prague-based European office remains committed to supporting the local community, and this year we donated 100,000 Czech Koruna to support their vital work. The cheque was presented by our Financial Director, Martin Beneš, to Lenka Lenochová, Head of Fundraising and Projects, with Helena Kubátová, LOCIKA’s Financial Director, also in attendance.

About the LOCIKA Centre

The LOCIKA Centre helps children affected by family violence within the Czech Republic, either as victims or witnesses. Their mission is to empower these children and their families to live free from violence, strengthen family relationships, and advocate for societal change in the perception of violence against children. With government funding covering only 30% of their expenses, LOCIKA relies heavily on donors to continue their transformative work.

Plans for 2025

Demand for LOCIKA’s services has grown, with 2-3 children turned away weekly due to capacity limits. In response, they plan to:

  • Expand their Child Advocacy Centre program to support more child victims of family violence.
  • Grow their professional team and secure additional space.
  • Advocate for legal reforms to improve the availability of specialised services for at-risk children.

Raising Awareness and Providing Support

In addition to direct assistance, LOCIKA raises awareness and educates communities through prevention programs for schools, national events like Drum Night, and accredited training for professionals. They also offer support via an online chat for children and a helpline for parents and the public.

Looking Ahead

We extend our thanks to LOCIKA for their dedication to protecting children and fostering safe environments. As they work toward their goals for 2025, we encourage everyone to consider supporting this incredible organisation. Together, we can help ensure every child grows up in safety and love.
