In celebration of World Water Resources Day, learn how sustainable water management can benefit your business.

Every year on March 22nd, the world comes together to recognize World Water Resources Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of water conservation and sustainable management. Water is essential for agriculture, food production, and human well-being, making its efficient use more critical than ever.

Energy Efficiency Spotlight – Lowering Water Consumption

Wyma is committed to sustainability and resource management. For World Water Resources Day, we highlight our advanced Water Recycling System, designed to reduce water usage in vegetable processing operations. By minimising freshwater consumption and maximising water reuse, our system helps businesses operate more sustainably while maintaining efficiency and performance.

Wyma’s 3-Stage Water Recycling System

Our 3-Stage Water Recycling System transforms wastewater into a reusable resource, significantly lowering fresh water consumption.

Stage 1: Polisher Filter

The Polisher Filter removes vegetable matter, debris, and dirt from wastewater generated by our Vege-Polisher™ and Vege-Peeler systems.

  • Intelligent Filtration: Rotating drum technology efficiently separates debris while allowing clean water to flow through.

  • Smart Features: Integrated auger system channels waste away automatically, and a self-cleaning design ensures continuous operation.

  • Sustainability Impact: Reduces freshwater usage by up to 70% while maintaining peak performance.

Stage 2: Micron Filter

The Micron Filter delivers precision filtration from 0.075 to 2mm, processing up to 108,000 liters per hour (or 108 cubic meters per hour) and reducing Total Suspended Solids (TSS) by over 60%.

  • Versatile Integration: Seamlessly connects to washing systems, wet hoppers, barrel washers, destoners, Vege-Polishers™, or peelers.

  • Smart Self-Maintenance: Automated cleaning cycles and built-in protection against solids buildup ensure reliability and efficiency.

Stage 3: Mud Tower

The Mud Tower uses gravity separation to remove solids from wash-water, transforming mud into manageable waste while producing clean, reusable water.

  • Superior Solid Extraction: Achieves an impressive 70-85% extraction rate of TSS when paired with our Micron Filter.

  • Eco-Friendly Operation: Operates without chemicals, ensuring an environmentally responsible and cost-effective solution.

  • Low Maintenance: Fully automated system for minimal intervention and maximum efficiency.

Working Towards a Sustainable Future

Water conservation is a shared responsibility. By investing in innovative water recycling solutions, businesses can significantly reduce their environmental footprint. On this World Water Resources Day, we encourage food processors and agricultural businesses to explore sustainable water management solutions.
